Seven Preventable Alzheimer’s Risk Factors
Thge Roskamp Institute identifies the seven following list of factors:
- Increased physical activity
- Enhanced mental activity
- Quit smoking
- Control Blood Pressure
- Manage Diabetes
- Manage weight
- Manage depression
I add one more. At age 60 or anything above, go to a medical facility or your family doctor that will do a “cognitive assessment”. This is a short set of questions and exercises that have the potential of indentifying memory issues before there are any behavioral signs of problems. Get anybody you love who is over 60 to do this. Contact the Roskamp Institute for an even more extensive free assessmant. (It takes about 20 minutes.) If you have Alazheimer’s Disease (AZ) in your families you are at higher risk. Early detection offers new ways of delaying onsets of AZ. Roskamp Institute is a reasearch facility North of Sarasota on Whitfield Avenue west of Rt. 301.
